The BA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) program has been established to provide students with English language skills needed for both teaching performances and daily activities. TEFL students develop and cognitive academic language skills through the use of sound instructional techniques. The program provides English language learners with the opportunity to grasp the academic, social, and cultural aspects of the English language through the teaching of reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

گروه زبان انگلیسی در سال ؟؟؟؟ با مجوز رسمی وزارت علوم آغاز به کار کرده و مفتخر است که تا کنون دانشجویان متعددی در رشته های آموزش زبان و مترجمی زبان و ادبیات انگلیسی، که بسیاری از آنها کرسی های مهمی را در دانشگاهای داخل و خارج از کشور تصاحب نموده اند، از این دانشکده فارغ التحصیل گردیده اند. این گروه هم اکنون دارای دو گروه آموزشی در سه مقطع تحصیلی ذیل می باشد

The Ph.D. program in TEFL comprises both content-area knowledge and research skills.The program aims to prepare students forteaching at universities where an in-depth knowledge of foreign language educational issues is required and also toconduct independent research in TEFL. After passing content courses students are required to take a comprehensive exam including issues in TEFL, testing, and linguistics. Upon passing the exam successfully, they will be allowed to submit their dissertation proposals.

The main objective of the programis to train capable researchers and efficient teachers. Upon completion of the program, graduates will have the following qualifications:
- Mastery of general theories, approaches and trends related to learning and teaching of English in a foreign language context
- Understandingof local and universal aspects of current methods of learning and teaching English Language as a foreign language
- Analysis and development of syllabuses andinstructional materials for secondary schools, and universities
- Designing effective English language tests and assessment methods for their EFL classes.
- Conducting research in the areas of English language teaching and learning.
In fact, the MA program in TEFL not only prepares professional knowledgeable, skilled,and efficient English teachers, but also it provides them with the knowledge and skills of developing assessment tools and practices.

Therefore, knowledge of English and the ability to use the language is rapidly becoming a valuable commodity.Due to the global desire to communicate in English, there is a huge demand for trained and skilled language teachers throughout the world. Consequently, graduates of TEFL will find opportunities in all kinds of foreign language teaching centers.

The goal of the TEFL program is to help students develop language skills necessary to be successful students and members of their society. This can be achieve most effectively by meeting the following objectives:
a) nurturing self-confidence and self-identity in the students through their linguistic and cultural heritage;
b) developing English proficiency in listening, writing, reading, and speaking skills;
c) developing proficiency in relevant content areas;
d) the ability to think, read and write critically, especially on issues related to language, learning and teaching; and
e) developing an awareness of and appreciation for the diversities among people around the world.
Job prospects for qualified TEFL teachers are excellent. There is a growing demand worldwide as English has become an international language. In every part of the world English has become the language used by people for their international communication. It is also important in education, and many people want to get a decent education in English. Graduates of the TEFL program will be qualified to work as English teachers, curriculum designers and material developers at public and private schools and universities as well as in other areas requiring advanced English language skills.
